Situated one and a half miles from Lambourn. The Plough at Eastbury is a hidden gem in this beautiful unspoilt rural village nestled in the heart of “The Valley of the Racehorse”. Where the River Lambourn flows through and fresh water trout are visible in the clear spring water. The pub dates from the 18th Century, c1750 and was believed to be a busy coaching inn. Probably gets its name from a horse drawn plough of a strong farming community, although they would prefer to think that it originates from the star constellation, as ‘The Plough’, on a clear summer evening shines out magnificently, directly overhead.
